Aurion selected to power the payroll of Ipswich City Council

About Ipswich City Council

Ipswich City Council provides a variety of essential services to the community, from waste collection, maintenance of parks and open spaces, community centres through to libraries. The council manages over $4.1 billion in infrastructure assets such as roads, drains, facilities and open spaces, all to serve their community effectively. With nearly 1,500 committed administrative, technical, operational, and professional employees, the council delivers a diverse range of services to more than 256,000 residents in the community.

Going out to tender for a new human resources and payroll system, Ipswich City Council searched to bring industry-leading technology to it’s 1,500 strong workforce. The council have signed a $10.8 million over 5 years to deliver this upgrade for a selection of vendors including Cognizant for implementation, Workday for HR and Aurion for payroll. This new HR & payroll system implementation will support council as they work towards efficiency improvements. Achieved by leveraging industry-leading technology and solutions, to modernise council operations.

Through this investment, Ipswich City Council can integrate modern technology to help their workforce better support the community every day. This will be achieved by incorporating seamless technology, modern equipment, and simplified processes. Forming a part of the selected suite of HR & Payroll systems, specific features of Aurion that stood out in the tender process to drive this goal included:
