What is the Medicare levy surcharge?

To define the Medicare levy, the ATO explains, “.. an amount you pay in addition to the tax you pay on your taxable income.”. Legislation change for tax brackets New Zealand (NZ)

The New Zealand government recently announced changes to tax indicators which are effective from 31 July 2024. This forms part of the tax relief package announced in the New Zealand Budget 2024 by the Minister of Finance, Hon Nicola Willis. These updated indicators have been implemented as essential legislative changes for our New Zealand customers in our latest software release, Aurion 11.91. Allowing for employee records to be updated and adjusted with accuracy while ensuring compliance with critical New Zealand payroll legislation.
