The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted normal economic life and brought a new level of risk and responsibility to maintaining accurate, compliant payroll.

Aurion wants to remind our customers that we can support your payroll team at short notice, however, you access the Aurion solution: through a hosted service, in the Aurion Cloud, or with our staff as a managed payroll service.

Responses to the coronavirus, like implementing new kinds of financial support for employees, are putting payroll teams under extra strain. If there are only one or two people to run your company’s payroll or if you rely on a desktop or paper-based system, and your payroll staff has to be away from the office, your capabilities will really be tested and increase the risk that your people under pressure will make a mistake.

Ready and willing
With Aurion Payroll Services, you can hand some or all your payroll processing to our expert team, whilst still retaining control over other people management processes. We will work with our customers on a case-by-case basis to determine what they need and make it available to the best of our abilities.

Our payroll services are supported by a dedicated team of specialists based onshore throughout Australia, and our customers partner with the Service Desk and a Client Advocate, who’ll together maintain an Aurion Service Level Agreement (SLAs).

After more than 30 years in business, Aurion is the trusted, long-term partner of hundreds of firms and government agencies, and has taken a fair share of emergency action to ensure our customers’ payroll is delivered on time in the most challenging circumstances.

According to Priscilla Stollznow, Project Manager – Customer Information Systems (CIS) for Suncare: “Despite an unavoidable change in our requirements, Aurion worked together with us as a team, toward a common goal, which was one of the main reasons why the project was a success.”

Saving ‘grandpa’ from the flood
At the beginning of 2019, a week-long monsoon downpour saw the otherwise drought-affected region of Queensland’s north-east hit by a one-in-500-year flood. As the crisis worsened, staff from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA, affectionately known as ‘GRANDPA’) were forced to evacuate their Townsville office along with many others in the city, meaning they couldn’t complete the pay run process and would potentially leave staff unpaid.

Aurion has been supporting the Marine Park Authority’s diverse operations and workforce for over 15 years, so when they reached out for assistance, the BPOS team came to the rescue (that’s the Business Process Outsourcing Service). They worked through the night with other Aurion and Authority staff in Townsville to process the payroll remotely out of our Brisbane office, and ensure it was in the bank as usual.

Aurion staff responded to the crisis with our typical accuracy and reliability – plus extra speed, effort and kindness – and supported the GBRMPA as they resumed their vital mission and in their community recovery efforts.

Offering certainty in a crisis
A major benefit of outsourcing your payroll to Aurion is the strength of our data security and quality assurance – we won’t let you down.

As a dedicated, specialist payroll solutions provider, Aurion is compliant with all Australian and New Zealand legislative requirements, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) and New Zealand Inland Revenue (IRD) PayDay reporting. Because we have partnered with AWS to deliver the Aurion Cloud, our solution is underpinned by the exceptional resilience of their distributed network and multiple data centres, which ensures interrupted access to our software platform at all times.

Aurion’s operations are also regularly audited by third-party experts to maintain our ISO27001:2013 certification for Information Security Standards, and our ISO9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems (QMS), which are backed by our ASAE3402 accreditation for quality service delivery.
